Pearl of wisdom (favorite quote):

"A ship in the harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for." -John A. Shedd

Dara Barlin has spent 20+ years as a researcher, policy advisor, and global organizer seeking to improve outcomes for underserved communities. Recently she discovered a technique that radically accelerates the rate at which positive change can take place – it’s called 360 empathy. Over the past five years, Dara has fine-tuned her knowledge of 360 empathy and applied it to multiple contexts, helping nonprofits and government agencies transform their culture, create more kindness, and improve outcomes. Dara’s written a book about large-scale reform in education, and her research has been featured in a number of venues including the United Nations, U.S. Senate, Harvard Education Letter, The Guardian, London Times, and several other outlets. Her research supported Barack Obama in getting elected during his first presidential election campaign. In 2012, Dara led a global project across 97 countries to build trust and develop a common blueprint for positive change. Dara has a Masters with honors in Public Policy from the London School of Economics, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Barnard College.
