Lea Boriskin, LCSW


Lea Boriskin, LCSW combines over 20 years of experience with psychology and education. She founded Proactive Counseling LCSW in Long Island, NY, where she is currently treating patients across a broad spectrum of backgrounds and ages; the majority of work surrounding mild to severe anxiety and depression. Prior to this, Lea’s experience encompasses a variety of settings, including mental health clinics, day treatment, social skills programs, juvenile rehabilitation program, hospitals and after school programs. Lea utilizes psychoeducation to help patients build coping skills and reduce dependence on psychotropic medication. Treatment incorporates multiple theories with training from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Developmental Model of Couples Therapy and Psychodynamic theory. She authored Relationships Made Possible, a workbook compiling exercises and quick references to connect patients of all ages to themselves and others.
