Rebecca Marcus, LCSW

Rebecca Marcus, considers herself a multi-theoretical clinician grounded in evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness as well as integrating attachment-based theory through a psychodynamic lens. She enjoys exploring “the why” behind patterns and behaviors while also working to improve, shift and change them.

Earning her Master’s degree from New York University Silver School of Social Work with a focus on clinical practice and trauma, Rebecca pursued post-graduate training at the Family Institute and the School of Psychotherapy in Israel as well as the New York Psychoanalytic Training Institute at New York Counseling and Guidance Services. With training in family systems and play therapy, as well as various expressive and alternative modalities including art, drama and sand tray therapy, Rebecca is also certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Level 1.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Rebecca has treated addictions and other co-occurring disorders as part of the Outpatient program at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in Chelsea, as well as working with children and families at Long Island Consultation Center in Queens.

Most importantly, Rebecca is a lifelong learner and stays up to date on the most effective evidence-based techniques and modalities through attending and presenting continuing educational training and workshops.
